Today, the cultivated vines cover about 120 hectares and are mainly situated in the north-east of Sardinia, in four areas of the beautiful Gallura: Balajana, Scolombrino, Montelitu and Ciabattu.
The vineyards are mainly located on exfoliated granite soils that have a good morphology at an altitude range from 100 to 500 m, an excellent drainage, a good level of mineral salts rich in potassium, in an environment characterised by pure air and moderate climate.
The vines are perfectly maintained, the ground is well fertilised – constantly cleaned and ventilated, pruning is timely and accurately carried out and the rows of grapevines are neat and well spaced.
Here the main vine variety in Gallura, Vermentino di Gallura DOCG – the only Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin in Sardinia – finds its ideal habitat allowing grapes to thrive and grow healthily, always stroked by the constant breeze and warmed by the sun during the Gallura summer.
The good temperature variation that is typical of these areas and the constant mitigation effect from the sea allow for grapes with particularly rich scents that become parts of the aroma of our wines – their distinctive feature combined with their high mineral content.
Apart from Vermentino di Gallura, we cultivate other native varieties in our vineyards such as Moscato di Gallura DOC and Cannonau di Sardegna DOC, and international vine varieties including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot and Chardonnay.
